Laurel
Church was founded in 1892 by circuit riding preachers from the
United Evangelical Church. The past 100+ years has brought us to
that of an independent community church made up of
suburban-minded people who live on small acreages, and families
who live in the southern neighborhoods of Hillsboro. Our desire
is to glorify God through our lives and through the sound
biblical teaching of His Word. The perspective of the believers
here echoes that of the early founders who quoted in their
conference minutes of 1896 that: "The work is in good condition
-- the outlook is promising."

Our Mission is to Glorify God through...
-
Worship, by establishing an atmosphere whereby we have
freedom to acknowledge who God is through our personal and corporate
encounters with Him.
-
Edification, by encouraging every
family member to mature in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ
through prayer, education and support networks.
-
Outreach, by providing regular opportunities for people in
our community and throughout the world to hear and respond to the gospel
message.
-
Fellowship, by encouraging the development of Christ centered
relationships among believers.

Vision Statement
Our vision as a church is to bring God glory
through accomplishing the following objectives:

Equip the
congregation at Laurel with sound biblical knowledge and
teaching so that each one will know and passionately
live for Jesus.
-
Have each
one established personally in his/her relationship with
Him.
-
Encourage
and care for each other in accountable small group
relationships.
-
Train
leaders continually to shepherd the people.
-
Have all
members of the body joined in unity, with Jesus as the
head, participating in personal ministry, corporate
worship, and impacting the broader community for Jesus.
